What is the course about?
The Pro Tools 101: Introduction to Pro Tools covers basic Pro Tools principles, giving you everything you need to complete a Pro Tools project, from initial set up to final mix down. Whether your project involves recording of live instruments, preparing MIDI sequences for virtual instruments, looping and beat-matching audio files, or editing notation and preparing scores, Pro Tools 101 course will give you the basic skills to succeed.
If you want to go on to AVIDTM Pro Tools certification, you'll need the solid grounding that the Pro Tools 100-level training provides.
How long does it run for?
Pro Tools 101 runs for 3 days.
What skills do I need?
Before you can do the course, you'll need basic computer skills (Mac preferred) and some audio recording knowledge, such as a basic understanding of recording techniques, processes, and equipment. High school-level English is required.

How will the course be run?
The course will run over 3 days and will be divided into:
- Seminar/Demonstration
- Practical Exercises
- Individual Practice Time
- Workshops
How will I be assessed?
On completion of the course, you can sit the Pro Tools 101 exam, the first step towards certification. Participants who successfully finish the course will be awarded with a Certificate of Completion jointly awarded by UTS and AVID.
What course materials will I need?
At the start of the course, you’ll be given ‘Pro Tools 101: Introduction to Pro Tools' and a companion DVD, which is included in your course fees.
