What is the course about?
Pro Tools 110: Essentials of Pro Tools provides a more detailed look at the Pro Tools system. This material presented in the 100-series cousework is designed to prepare students for AVID's Pro Tools User Certification exam. This course also provides the foundation for later 200-series Pro Tool courses, including: Pro Tools 201, Pro Tools 210M, Pro Tools 210P.
How long does it run for?
Pro Tools 110 runs for 3 days.
What skills do I need?
Basic computer skills, some audio recording knowledge, and basic Pro Tools familiarity are needed. Pro Tools 101: Introduction to Pro Tools is intended as a prerequisite for taking the 110 course. High School-level English is required.

- Getting started – Working with I/O Setup
- Configuring and Controlling Pro Tools – Using a Control Surface
- Managing Session Data and Media Files
- Recording MIDI and Audio
- Working with Timebases and Virtual Instruments
- Working with Elastic Audio
- Editing & Quantizing MIDI and Audio – MIDI Real-Time Properties
- Audio Editing and File Management Techniques
- Additional Editing Techniques – Working with Beat Detective
- Automation
- Basic Mixing and Signal Flow
- Advanced Mixing Techniques
How will the course be run?
The course will run over 3 days and will be divided into:
- Seminar/Demonstration
- Practical Exercises
- Individual Practice Time
- Workshops
How will I be assessed?
Passing the 101 exam is required before taking the 110 exam. On completion of the course you may sit the Pro Tools 110 exam. Participants who successfully finish the course will be awarded with a Certificate of Completion jointly awarded by UTS and AVID.
What course materials will I need?
At the start of the course, you'll be given 'Pro Tools 110: Essentials of Pro Tools' and a companion DVD which is included in your course fees.
